Gas?

So I was thinking about the price of gas on my way to work because it has just gotten out of hand... $2.55 per/gal?? What is that?? I mean everyone went crazy when gas went over two dollars.. but yet.. the price continues to inch up daily... and yet we continue to pay the prices! How can we "boycott" these outrageous and record breaking prices? I really don't know?? But I was also thinking about this and thought do you think that the government could be in on this whole thing! Obvious the government has technology that we don't know about and some of that technology probably has to do with transportation.. and possibly using a reduced amount of gas if any!?? And with the new year approaching it seems to me that all of these car companies are introducing more and more hybrid and electric cars?? Why?? Because of extreme gas prices there is a market for them! Do you think that the oil reserves and starting to run low so the government is jacking gas prices just so that the hybrid cars would seem more desirable and economically smart.. so that we begin to buy them hoping to extend our oil reserves?? Or do you think that there is any connection with the recent revealings of all of these hybrid cars and the high gas prices?? Could there be a connection?? What can we do?? Is there anything??? Traveling has become more and more hard to do.. because of the outrageous gas prices and it is almost cheaper to fly than drive.. will it come down to having an airport in all towns that are "anything" so that you can fly from place to place even if it would only take you an hour to drive to your destination.. is that what the future is going to come down to.. flying as being the main mode of transportation... Without gas stations it seems that the economy would crumble... so how can the government compensate for that as well as make a transition into an alternative plan of transportation?? Would high gas prices be enough to "compensate" because of the many people who will be unable to afford hybrid or electric cars as they have to gringe everytime they fill up there outdated gas-run vehicle?? I don't know but an interesting concept I think?
